Development co-operation

The MDM system was developed in co-operation with several pharmaceutical institutions. One of them is the leading pouch packing company in the world, the Swedish pharmaceutical chain Apoteket AB. Before getting together with Global Factories, Apoteket had spent years in search of an automated medicine detection system that was sufficiently accurate and reliable. After a series of audits, development and testing, the MDM system was finally perfected, scoring 10% higher than the stringent goals originally established for the project. The experience of the partners, combined with the technical expertise and vision of Global Factories, has produced a solution that fully meets the needs of all medicine packagers.

A versatile system

Global Factories’ patented technology makes our MDM unique in the world. It is the proven medicine detection machine, used to check up over 1 million single- and multi-dose pouches every day, in over 10 countries. Most of the world’s biggest medicine packagers use the MDM. Whether catering for 1,000 or 25,000 patients, the system is suitable for the full range of users. The production batch

The efficiency of the MDM centres on the production batch. A production batch is a number of medicine pouches connected together. A key to the versatility of the MDM is that each production batch can be for anything from a single patient to an entire hospital ward. The checking of large batches is traditionally a very inefficient process, but even the complete department of a nursing home is no problem for our MDM. By automating the checking and the winding, versatility is automatically built into the system. And of course, the larger the wound batch, the more efficient the transportation and distribution.
